Ambassadors of the BSHP are postgraduate students or early-career researchers working in any area of the history of philosophy. The principal task of an Ambassador is to work with the Officers and Management Committee to promote the Society and increase its membership. My main goal as an Ambassador will be consolidating the Society’s international presence, and, in particular, increasing European participation in the Society.
The British Postgraduate Philosophy Association (BPPA) is the leading organisation for postgraduate philosophy students in the United Kingdom. It was formed to provide an active community of support and advice or young philosophers, bridging geographical boundaries between universities and departments.
The Transition Office supports students progressing from undergraduate to postgraduate study, with a focus on first-generation, working-class, and underrepresented students. Its Transition Facilitation Initiative features a database of UK philosophy departments — including information on degrees, research areas, and funding opportunities — alongside a network of mentors offering local, targeted guidance.
The Committee is responsible for monitoring the quality and success of all the academic activities offered by the School. This includes supervising over the standards of teaching, overseeing the development of the academic services provided to the students by the staff, promoting the activation and suppression of modules, and designing policies to improve the overall success of the educational offer of the School.
